keeping it simple

Evening. (its 00.58 and im still at work, get me).

We've had a wierd but good couple of months.  Firstly a wonderful wedding near Beverley ( Hi Anna and Miki) Stunning bride, handsome groom, lovely families and  30mph winds that didnt phase a soul.  Fabulously relaxed and stylish atmosphere all day.  Shot Anna & Miki with assistant Ben who did a sterling job but lost points for not getting a dance with a bridesmaid.

Then were hired to schmooze (its a technical term) a birthday party for a client lady from Ryedale who was using Castle Howard for the shindigs.  The theme for the party was Twisted Decadence and I bloody loved it.  Currently designing a book of pictures for the client as a memento.

Next up, York Youth Mysteries, a most excellent body of work around the York Mystery plays, with yours truly and a radio production team shooting ideas and pre production images with groups of volunteers who came to learn the camera / radio skills then thrash out ideas that reinterpret the mystery plays in a contemporary way.  Mint.  Big event is on 21st June in York.

The luxury hand built kitchen firm Peter Thompson of York has us in to create a body of images for marketing use, including key staff members in interior sets and the craftsmen at work in workshops, as well as a great set of portraits of Peter himself, a real gent.

Isotoma, the York based software-type-technical people who seems to develop world class online solutions whilst sitting in lovely offices, listening to cool tunes and occasionally wearing shoes, called us in to shoot the teams headshots and some at work images for future press releases. Very cool.

Then we had a grandparents and granddaughter shoot for a client who was one of our brides last year and has had a lovely little girl (Hi Claire).

Still in portrait mode we had a great session with a heavily pregnant lady, her husband and daughter in the studio to create some very classical low key bump shots. Really cool work, lovely to do , lovely to see the finished results.

Then a fab wedding that wins the prize for string pulling.  It only rained during the service, during the drive to the reception and late in the evening, with bight sunshine coming out for the bride whenever she stepped outside. And drinks and canapes were served at The Archbishops Palace.  Im not saying theres a connection or anything.  Wonderful day, lovely people and a great meal with quality - hold -your -sides laughing speeches from the geordie best men under the chandaliers of the Parsonage.  Shot this one with Katie, fresh from her recent trip to Norway. Katie got chatted up (as normal) by a groomsman later in the evening but lucky his accent had had a few so she still doesnt know what he was talking about .

As soon as its not 2am, Ill be posting taster pics from as many of the above as poss incl.Katies trip to Norway. Meanwhile the first wedding is in the recent weddings section, and Natalie, our pregnant client is in the family portrait section.

(FACT: our cameras work in -15 degrees, katies fingers don't.)
